What is a Red Banana?
Red Bananas are a variety of banana with reddish-purple skin. They are smaller and more plump than the common yellow Cavendish banana. When ripe, raw red bananas have a flesh that is cream-to-light pink in color. They are softer and sweeter than the yellow varieties, with a slight raspberry-banana flavor.
The Health Benefits of Banana Flakes
Red bananas have a deep red or maroon rind when ripe. The redder the fruit, the higher the carotene and vitamin C levels. Because Banana Flakes contain only 3% water, the nutrients are much more concentrated.
Our red bananas are allowed to tree ripen under completely organic growing conditions and are then carefully hand-picked at the peak of freshness. In order to maintain the maximum amount of nutrients, our Banana Flakes are air dried, and never heat dried. The finished product contains no additives or preservatives. These banana flakes have the same flavor characteristics of a freshly peeled banana!

Suggested Usage: Ideal for dry fruit preparations, powdered drinks, cake mixes, etc. The flakes reconstituted 1:3 with water can be used in the same traditional uses as fresh mashed bananas. They are suitable for smoothies, elixirs, baby food, ice cream, yogurt, and other frozen desserts. Great added to pancakes!
Shelf-Life/Storage Instructions: Approximately 18 months, if properly sealed in an air-tight container (such as the bag it comes in) and if kept in a cool, dry place.
**Banana Flakes may harden into small clumps or a large clump. This does not change the nutritional value or efficacy of the product. Break or loosen the clumps with either your hands or a small utensil and enjoy!
